During the year of Camden Palace and Sun City Raving DJ TRIX played his first set in Ibiza at Paradise, one of a small number of DJ’s representing the emerging UK Garage Scene on the island at the time with DJ Gem and MC DT. Later that year he went on to launch Pressure Leeds, and held residency at 2 Steps Ahead hosting London DJ’s every week including Mike ‘Ruffcut’ Lloyd, Norris ‘Da Boss’ Windross, and Karl ‘Tuff Enuff’ Brown.

The early 2000’s were a golden era for R’n’B & Hip Hop. LoveDough launched at Po Na Na and DJ Trix took up Hip Hop residency with what went on to become one of the UK’s most successful and long standing urban club nights. Lovedough has hosted events in over 40 Venues worldwide including breaking box office records in both Leeds and Newcastle with combined admissions of over 7,000 people on the same night and Broadcasting live on BBC Radio 1 & 1Xtra six times since August 2003, including from a sold out Ibiza show.

In the mid 2000’s the underground music scene was booming. Whilst living with Back to Basics resident Craig Barnes, Trix setup Viper bringing London vibes to The North of England with Shy FX & Skibadee, Brockie & Det, Kenny Ken & Bryan Gee, alongside heading up Selecta with 1XTRA and Kiss 100 DJ’s Big Ted, DJ Spoony & DJ Asha, along with producing an 18 track UK mixtape featuring Skinnyman and the hottest UK Talent.

Following a 10 year hiatus Trix became official tour DJ for Piers James, starting with The Royal Festival Hall Supporting Ghostface Killah and Kojey Radica,l going on to perform at respected venues in London and around the UK including The Jazz Cafe, Shoreditch House, touring festivals including Liverpool International Music Festival, The BBC Introducing Stage at Latitude Festival, coming back the following year to open the Lake Stage with crowds 10,000+ people raving in glorious sunshine.

Dj Trix joined The Hip Hop Back In the Day Crew with a residency at the legendary Itch FM in London, and held down the Saturday Night spot at Studio 808 in Chelmsford where DJ Samira joined to do a special birthday live stream. Trix and Samira became close friends during this period, with similar goals in life and music taste conversations naturally started to gravitate towards plans for shows, and DJ residencies.

DJ Trix continued to work in the music industry, helping to promote artist and media pages for Daily Motion, Sony Music and Universal Music, alongside continued radio work and DJ residencies In the same year Samira launched The Mind Festival to raise awareness around the severity of addictions within our communities and the impact that the misuse of alcohol and drugs can have on our mental health.

Due to COVID-19 and imposed lockdown on the U.K. and most of the world, all shows, festivals, residencies and tours had to be cancelled. DJ Trix and Samira joined forces to launch Vibesolate FM in April 2020 as a way of bringing creative communities together through challenging times, showcasing the best DJ sets, conversations, blogs and live video streams, providing a platform for artists to share their best work with the world.
